Announcment

My image Living Prayer was selected from the thousands of images uploaded on Zazzle as their favorite picture of the day on Nov 4th and will be posted on the websites main page. I was wondering how my work would be received and to have an immediate positive response is encouraging

Finding Angels

The upcoming blogs will start to introduce you to some of my inspirations and the stories about how my art comes to life and becomes part of the world

Here is a sample of one of my latest digital creations. This young artist model came over to meet me and see the studio. We did some figure study photographs to get a sense of what type work we would try to develop. About a month later I had a flash of an idea and went back to the images because I felt her expression was perfect. I found this image and started working on it on the computer until this final product finally arose.

Jessica is such a delightful young woman. Her enthusiasm for art makes it so easy to work with her and capture great expression. In the next 6 months you will be seeing her as one of my sculptures too. She is very excited to get back to the studio to be part of the sculpture series.

Getting Started

Today I'm starting this blog page to show some of the new directions that I am expanding to with my art. Most of the art world knows me for the wood figure sculptures that I do.

I want people to start seeing the artistic influence and inspiration that goes into my work so that such expressive things can happen. So I will be throwing out thoughts on this page from time to time to help you all see some of this process. And better yet, what new directions it's taking me!!!

So welcome to the crazy place that I refer to as my brain.
Question...Who is my muse???
Answer....The world!

Everywhere I go, I am just amazed by everything around me. I guess I'm just a visual person. I love people. That's why there always seems to be a figurative element to my work. I am always fascinated by the individual and I look for ways to incorporate personality into everything I create
